Illuminate
Illuminate the ways that sacred spiritual leadership, wisdom keeping and healing are already alive in social movements.
SoM helps to bring those who are on the margins, yet closest to the arts of sacred healing and relationship, to the center of our collective consciousness. Through research, writing, public speaking, and dialogue we describe and celebrate who these activists of the Spirit are, their range of forms and types of activities within our communities and movements for planetary change. We create beautiful disturbances in the field of philanthropy, opening new channels of thought and practice around relational funding for guardians of Spirit in these times.
Nourish
Nourish a web of movers of spiritual-social healing and transformation.
We focus on building relationships between people of earth-and-spirit healer and wisdom-tender lineages who are struggling to live, nurture and share their medicines, and social movements. We offer retreat experiences, technical assistance, and circles of support to activists of Spirit in the midst of struggle. We provide fertile ground — financial resources and support — to seed the work of emerging spirit-rooted activists and nurture the growth of elder healers and wisdom-keepers.
Amplify
Amplify the voices of the Sacred.
We create platforms for wisdom keepers, healers, faith leaders and other spiritual activists to speak in their own voices to share their stories, traditions, values and vision for the future. Through curated dialogue, public presentations, workshops, and SoM publications and media, the voices of the Sacred are broadcast in widening circles.
Encounter
Encounter with one another and the Spirit.
SoM helps grow relationships, shared understanding and common values among these many and varied activists and allied stakeholders. These relationships are deepened through coursework, periods of intensive shared study (often hosted virtually bridging people across space), and in-person through pilgrimage to Boriken (also known by its colonial name, Puerto Rico).
In collaboration with the Indigenous Taino people of Boriken, SoM invites activists and stakeholders into embodied engagement - listening and prayer - with the Taino struggle for sovereignty, a struggle that encompasses the recovery of old ways of knowing and spiritual practice that colonial forces attempted to silence. Through pilgrimage, SoM invites people to experience the unraveling of the old story and deepen in commitment to new visions of collaboration and movement-building centered in spirit.
